Depression:

I would like to give you some scriptures for you to put into your spirit. Meditate on these scriptures daily.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22

"I will cry out to God Most High, To God who performs all things for me." Psalm 56:2

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 12:28

"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 12:29

"For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 12:30

We see from scripture that Jesus tells us to cry out to Him, to run to Him, to learn of Him. I think one of the best ways to defeat depression is to learn Jesus. To develop a relationship with Him. To draw very close to Him.

Depression is truly a gift from satan himself. Depression is extremely self-centered. As long as we look at ourselves, our eyes are off of the Lord.

I truly recommend that you go to your pastor for help. Not only will he know what to tell you to do, but, he will know how to bind that demon. It is demonic in all it's activity. Sometimes, we need to be delivered from it. Sometimes, we just need some encourgement. Sometimes, we need to just give out what we need. What I mean by that, depression will make you feel like no one loves you, so you give love out to everyone. Love someone who isn't loved very much, you know, the "slow" person, or the not so clean looking person. Love them the way Jesus would love them. If you need compassion, give someone compassion who doesn't deserve compassion. If you need understanding, give understanding to someone who needs understanding. If you need a hug, give someone who needs a hug, but maybe doesn't deserve it.

The old saying, that there is always someone more worse off than you, is true. We are surrounded by the unloveable, the dirty, the prisoner, the hateful. If we give what we need to those that are in need, it will be returned to you.

If you don't have a pastor to talk to, then find one! Most pastors are more than willing to talk to people who need help. It's just a phone call away!

God does love you, just as you are. Even if you don't "feel" it.

It is God's Word and His love that sustains us. God's Word always instructs us to give. "Freely you have received, freely give." is not just talking about money. It means to freely show forth God's love and mercy and faithfulness and kindness and compassion. That is why the first thing depression will do, if you search alittle you will find this to be true, is to steal the Word of God from you. One of the first things that will happen is that you will not read the Word as much. Then, you don't pray as often. Then, we finally find ourselves in a position where we don't read the Word of God at all, or pray at all. Satan knows he doesn't have you, if you are a christian, but if he can just make your life miserable, then he's happy with that. But, he won't stop there, satan will try to do all he can to "do away" with you. Jesus said that satan comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. And he will attempt all three. But, as a child of God, you have authority over satan. You can stop him, and we do that by reading God's Word and by prayer. God's Word is our weapon again satan. That's why satan tries his best to steal the Word of God from us.

There is no happiness outside of God's Word or God's will. God is our only source of happiness and joy and peace. We get to know God by His Word, the Bible, and by prayer.

I hope this has helped you. If not, please counsel with a pastor and let the pastor instruct you. If he's a born-again pastor, one who believes and teaches God's Word, the Bible as the inspired Word of God, he will direct you in the right path.

God's peace to you.
