WHO IS JESUS AND WHY MUST I BE BORN-AGAIN?

Who is Jesus? Many people have different views of who He is. But, let's look at the Bible to see just who Jesus really is.

In the book of John, the Bible tells us explicitly who Jesus really is. Let's look at the very first and second verses in the first book of John.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God."  In verses 29-34, the Bible tells us that Jesus is that Word.  He is the Son of God!  "And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God." verse 34.

The book of John is a very good book to read that explains who Jesus is.  I strongly recommend that you read it through and through.  Many other scriptures throughout the Bible tells us that Jesus IS the Son of God.  That Jesus IS the only begotten Son of God.  Matthew 3:17.."and suddenly a voice came from heaven saying, 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased'."  Mark 1:1..."The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God."  Luke 1:31-33.."And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.  He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.  And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom, there will be no end."  I gave you just four scriptures from the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) to prove who Jesus is.  Truly, He IS the Son of God!  Many scriptures from Genesis to Revelation talks of who Jesus is.

Let's go one step further.  Not only is Jesus the Son of God...He IS God!  Let's look at John 10:30.."I and My Father are one."  1John 5:7.."For there are three who bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are One."  They are three distinct persons ... but one God!  They all possess the same essence ... omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience, righteousness, love, justice, etc. but are three persons.  It's called the Trinity meaning Three!  Look in Genesis .. "Let us make man in OUR image ..."  The Hebrew word for God in Genesis is "Elohim" which is plural.  Simply put, God..Jesus...Holy Spirit are three persons, but one God. (Trinity=three)

Now, why must we be born again?  Let's look at the book of John and see.  John 3:3.."Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he CANNOT see the kingdom of God."  Another verse says:  (John 6:47-48) .."Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life."  John 6:58..."This is the bread which came down from heaven--not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever."  John 6:41.."I am the bread which came down from heaven."  John 10:9..."I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture."

We have to be born again, confessing Jesus is Lord, and believe in our hearts, to enter heaven.  We cannot come into heaven in any other way.  We have to be born again to go to heaven!

How do we get born again?  The Bible is very clear on how to be born again.  Let's look at the book of 1John. 1John 1:9..."If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteouness."  Romans 10:9..."That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED."

To be born again, we see that the Bible tells us to "confess with our mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved".

If you would like to be born again, all you have to do is say a very simple prayer.  Say this prayer, or one similar to it:

'Dear God, I recognize that I am a sinner.  Jesus, I want to be saved, so I ask You to come into my heart and save me.  I ask You to forgive me of all my sins.  Cleanse me from all my sins and write my name down in the Lambs book of life.  Jesus, Your word says that if I confess You are the Lord and if I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead, then I will be saved.  I confess right now that You are Lord and that God raised You from the dead.  Thank you Jesus, I am saved!  I now call God my Father, because I have just been adopted!!  Thank you Father!  In Jesus Name I pray, amen.'

If you have said this prayer and believed....YOU ARE SAVED!   I would like to be the first to welcome you into the family of God!!  You have many, many brothers and sisters now!  There is just two things you must do.  You must tell others that you are now saved!  Second, you must find a church to attend.  It makes no difference where you go, what denomination you attend.  The very important thing is to make sure it is a church that teaches the Word of God and that teaches Jesus as the only way to get to heaven!

I would like to also point out at this time that salvation is a FREE GIFT!  There is NOTHING you can do to earn it!!  Ephesians 2:8.."For by GRACE you have been saved through FAITH, and that NOT of YOURSELVES; IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD."  Also, Ephesians 2:9.."NOT OF WORKS, LEST ANYONE SHOULD BOAST."  We CANNOT earn our way to heaven....there is NO WORK we can do to get us there!  God accepts you just the way you are, then God (after salvation) starts doing His work on you.  God will change those things that need to be changed!  God works on the inside first, then the outside!  People sometimes has a hard time realizing that salvation is FREE...they want to make you change or tell you that there is things that you HAVE to do to get to heaven.  Sorry, that's just not true.  There is absolutely NOTHING you can DO to get to heaven.  It is NOT OF WORKS!! Truly, to be born again, you simply BELIEVE.  It is through faith.  Let no man deceive you in this.  It is a gift.  You accept the gift.  To accept the gift, you HAVE to believe and CONFESS that Jesus is Lord.  Man makes salvation hard...not God.  Let God do the work on you...not man.

Now that you are born again, the Bible tells us that we are..."New creatures...OLD things have passed away...ALL things become new."!!!  Isn't that wonderful news??  We get to start ALL over at our lives!!  We are brand new!!! Just like alittle baby just arriving in this world, but now our Father is God Almighty!!  And let me tell you this, as God as our Father, He truly favors us!!  He desires nothing but good things for you!!  He loves you like you have never been loved before!  He defends His children!  PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!
