A National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Spotter Training Course will be offered at St. Clair Fire Department, Firehouse #1, 470 East North Street, St. Clair. The NWS uses trained volunteers who agree to become the "eyes and ears" of the NWS. Weather spotters provide real-time observations of severe weather events, such as tornados, damaging winds, hail, flooding, and winter weather. These reports assist the NWS meteorologists in making warning decisions. Spotters help the NWS fulfill its mission of protecting life and property, and also assist in providing their communities with life saving information. The class will meet on Wednesday, March 12 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. There is no fee to attend, but space is limited.
